Starling Aerospace is a fast expanding commercial and VIP aircraft interior
outfitting company located in Leatherhead, Surrey, just off junction 9 of the M25.
We are seeking a Quality Inspector Trainee to join our team. Liaising with the
Sales Director, QA Manager and Production Manager this role is required to help
ensure that all project deliveries meet customer expectations and certification
requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
➢ Inspect and approve incoming/outgoing materials/products by
confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and
reporting to Head of Inspection/QA any non-conforming
materials/products.
➢ Perform first off, in-process and final inspection by confirming
specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests,
communicating required adjustments to production
supervisor/operator.
➢ Read technical drawings, control plans and specifications to understand
the requirements of products and services.
➢ Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarise
re-work and waste, and input data into the quality database. Raise and
sign off release documents (CofC, Advice Notes, etc.)
➢ Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating
instructions and calibration requirements, and reporting any faulty or
out of calibration equipment.
➢ Communicate with the Quality/Engineering department about how to
prevent similar defects in the future.
Skills and Qualifications/experience:
➢ Good working knowledge of AS9100 with a specialisation in aircraft cabin
safety
➢ Good working knowledge of ISO9001
➢ Good working knowledge of CFAR / EASA Part 21 regulations
➢ Good working knowledge of SMS practices
➢ Good working knowledge of Quality Audit practices and corrective action
➢ Strong understanding of quality control/inspection standards and testing
techniques/methods (use of micrometers, verniers, DTis, height gauges,
CMM, etc.) (required).
➢ Strong understanding of technical drawings and GD&T (required).
➢ Good mathematics and technical skills (required).
➢ Good knowledge of MS Office (preferred).
➢ FAIR/PPAP knowledge (preferred).
➢ Ability to work in fast paced environment/under pressure (required).
Salary dependent on experience.
