Department: Supply Chain
Briggs of Burton is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented QI Inbound Materials Inspector to join our Supply Chain team on a short-term basis. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth and compliant flow of materials through our global project supply chain. If you have experience in quality inspections within a production or goods in environment and thrive in a fast-paced setting, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspections of all incoming materials and ensure timely release for kitting.
- Carry out visual and dimensional checks to confirm compliance with specifications, tolerances, and drawings.
- Maintain traceability of materials and components, including heat numbers, batch details, and disposition status.
- Process and verify material certification to support project documentation packs.
- Quarantine non-conforming items and coordinate appropriate disposition actions.
- Actively engage in daily Welcome to Work meetings to understand priorities and align workloads.
- Support the safe handling, storage, and movement of materials in line with manual handling procedures.
- Maintain control over inbound logistics and goods-in processes across Briggs, suppliers, and client sites.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong knowledge of logistics, production, and warehouse (goods-in) processes.
- A background in Machining or Fabrication with hands-on inspection experience.
- Familiarity SAP is desirable.
- Confident in using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Detail-focused, organised, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines.
Contract & Availability
- Duration: Up to 8 weeks (immediate start available)
- We are aiming to fill this position by the end of the week, with interviews to take place within the next 1–2 days.
