Members of the Caterbar national buying group we are now seeking to hire an experienced Purchasing Specialist to help us develop, lead and deliver our buying goals, you will be responsible for the daily routine of buying goods and services whilst helping to improve our systems and processes.
With the ability to liaise with our suppliers, helping to build strong and reliable relationships with those suppliers, process purchase orders, monitor and adjust stock levels, identify & recommend suitable new products and work closely with our internal teams to understand their wider requirements and helping to support the overall wider company effort to help deliver our growth targets.
The successful candidate must have excellent IT skills in particular Microsoft based suites of software. specifically excel with an ability to manage and update data. You will have the confidence to negotiate with suppliers and will enjoy the supplier relationship journey, you will require lots of passion and be a quick learner with a strong outgoing personality. You will also have a positive attitude, high levels of attention to detail and be an exceptional team player.
Detail minded and with an understanding of ERP systems such as Sage 50 or Profit 4 stock control systems, you will be someone who is dedicated, hard-working, driven, determined and flexible to go that extra mile to deliver in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities
- Supplier Management: Researching and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining relationships with existing suppliers.
- Negotiation and Pricing: Negotiating prices and contract terms with suppliers to secure the best deals for the organization.
- Demand Forecasting: Analysing data to predict future demand and informed purchasing decisions.
- Quality Control: Ensuring that all purchased items meet quality standards and specifications.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels, placing orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
- Cost Reduction: Identifying opportunities for cost savings and implementing strategies to reduce purchasing expenses.
- Reporting: Maintaining procurement records and reporting on purchases and supplier performance.
- Market Research: Keeping up-to-date with market trends, new products, and manufacturing processes.
You will be able to demonstrate
- A minimum of 2 years of sales stock control or purchasing experience including stock management, managing minimum order levels and raising purchase orders

- You will have very strong IT skills - MS Excel MS Word and ERP software

Job Summary
- Managing and tracking minimum and maximum stock levels and adjusting to market and seasonal trends
- Add and amend stock details to the ERP system
- Raising purchase orders in line with stock daily inventory levels
- Tracking purchase orders through to completion
- Onboard new suppliers ensuring company compliance standards are met
- Liaising with suppliers over incorrect deliveries
- Monitor supplier performance
- Organising returns
- Manage receipt of all purchase orders
- Ensure up to date cost pricing of product record
- Ensure up to date category and product data information for every supplier and product record
- Resolving price queries on purchase orders
- Deliver cost saving initiatives across managed product categories

- Work along side of management in supporting negotiations to ensure best value offerings
- Gain knowledge and keep up to date with pricing and market trends presenting findings back to our field and internal sales teams
- Detailed management of the company inventory and stock
- Managing the daily min max stock levels and raise purchase orders in line with requirements
- Work closely with warehouse and goods in staff to ensure correct delivery resolving all queries and back orders
- Manage cost pricing changes
- Self-motivated with ambition to help us grow the business
- Ability to work under pressure and at a fast pace

- Support the sales team and wider sales effort

Flexibility and the ability to work well within a team in a fast paced environment, the role is suited to someone who is self-motivated and who is able to work off their own initiative and who enjoys a challenge. On the job training will be given and ideally the candidate will live locally to or near Melton Mowbray.
Wartnaby is a rural location close to Melton Mowbray but with no transport infrastructure therefore you will require your own means of transport.
