Assistant Buyer (Indirect)

We are now looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our Procurement Team, where you will support the sourcing and negotiation of indirect goods and services. You will use your excellent communication skills to build and maintain first-class relationships with existing and new suppliers. Our Assistant Buyer will:

• Support the Senior Buyer to maintain a steady supply of, quality, cost-effective goods and services from approved suppliers
• Foster strong and effective working relationships with suppliers to deliver savings and process efficiencies for indirect spend categories
• Assist the Senior Buyer to negotiate, agree, manage, and measure supplier performance against defined SLAs
• Participate in a diverse range of procurement and supply chain projects
• Work collaborating with colleagues across all departments

Our Assistant Buyer will have:

• Purchasing or Procurement experience in a similar position
• Excellent communication and rapport building skills
• A track record of building strong, productive, and effective supplier relationships, using pre-defined SLAs to manage supplier performance
• A natural curiosity, with a creative and innovative approach to problem solving, and a passion for continuous improvement
• A positive and can-do attitude
• First-class attention to detail
• ERP system experience, with strong administrative, organisational and prioritisation skills
