Retail Production manager
Ensuring production plans are completed each day in line with KPIs and metrics for SPQDC, recruitment process of general ops including T2P agency operators.
To ensure the production plan for all lines is completed safely, on time and in full.
Key areas of activity that the operative needs to deliver are as follows: -
Safety
- Ensure you work to all health and safety guidelines and procedures.
- Ensure your teams work to all health and safety guidelines and procedures.
- Ensure good housekeeping across all retail areas by completing GMP/safety audits and logging results for trend analysis.
- Ensure all safety issues raised by yourself and your team are logged onto the K2 system with suitable actions for closure.
- Ensure all required pre-start checks for the factory have been completed by the appropriate person. Sign off the checks and report any issues raised directly to retail PM and engineering or technical departments where required.
- Ensure people safety compliance by working with the training department to deliver all critical safety training to those required prior to operating any machinery or completing any processes.
- Ensure our product is food safe by ensuring all key ops have appropriate training across required procedures, including label and metal procedures.
- Audit key op paperwork and activity to ensure all procedures being followed as they should be.
- Ensure QASs are available for all retail products and displayed for all product runs.
- Work with the QA team to audit packing standards to ensure customer standards are being adhered to.
- Responsible for brand integrity by ensuring all NESI values are followed across the retail pack area and all customer COPs are adhered to at all times.
- Support quality investigations raised internally or by customers.
- Ensure labour across all retail lines is within establishment number and agency supplied is not above the amount ordered. Report any variances to the retail production manager.
- Ensure waste is monitored and target repeat offenders and high value opportunities.
- Run the SIC updates and meetings to highlight areas of opportunity, risk and to proactively make decisions to affect the rest of the day’s production.
- Work with the engineering team to reduce downtime and maximise machine output across all retail machinery.
- Ensure planned PPMs are achieved each day.
- Ensure production schedule can be followed as planned through communication with the primary teams to ascertain when primary and defrosted fish will be ready for pack out.
- Ensure 100% service on time and in full.
- Challenge line leaders/machine minders on plan attainment issues. Work with planning to ensure any issues with schedule are amended to support plan attainment.
- Work with the despatch team to supply the product that is needed for picking and out loading to ensure vehicles turned around in good time with no depot receipt issues.
- Ensure that all RTWs are completed for all ops returning from absence on the day they return, and all detail sent to HR immediately after completion.
- Ensure that you are aware of your working hours so that you do not breach WTD – +60 hours in 7 days, 11-hour rest period, 1 day off in 7 or 2 days off in 14.
- Work with training department to ensure training matrix compliance is at 95% or above with all safety/food safety critical training completed to 100%.
- Step up to cover retail production manager role in periods of annual leave/absence.
- Excellent level of spoken and written English and to be able to write legibly for audit purposes.
- Experience in supervising a medium-large team – Preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Knowledge/experience of food safety and health and safety within the factory environment.
- Able to work cross-functionally to problem solve within fast paced environment.
- Ensure the consistent and efficient running of all retail lines.
- Ensure labour within the retail factory is in line with establishment across all lines and shifts in retail pack out factory.
- Ensure 100% service OTIF and plan attainment achieved.
