About the Role
We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Bakery Supervisor to join our team in West London. Reporting to the Production Management Team, you will be a pivotal leader, overseeing the daily operations of our high-volume bakery. Your main goal will be to ensure the efficient, consistent, and high-quality production of all baked goods in large batches, maintaining our exacting standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is proficient with industrial baking equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute all baking tasks, ensuring consistency and quality for high-volume production runs.
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of production bakers, fostering high performance and continuous skill development.
- Conduct rigorous quality checks on all products, troubleshooting issues and ensuring adherence to our precise standards.
- Drive efficiency, minimise waste, and enhance product quality through process improvement and maintaining an organised workspace.
- Manage bulk ingredient inventory using FIFO principles to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
- Safely operate and maintain industrial baking equipment.
- Enforce strict adherence to UK Food Safety (e.g., HACCP), Health & Safety guidelines, and company SOPs.
- Work with the NPD team to seamlessly integrate new products into large-scale production.
- Proactively contribute to improving overall bakery operations and team performance.
About You
- Minimum 3 years of professional baking experience, ideally in a production or artisan bakery.
- Previous supervisory experience or leading a team.
- Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting industrial baking equipment.
- Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team in a demanding production setting.
- Meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to product quality and consistency.
- Proactive and decisive approach to operational challenges.
- Comfortable with varying working hours (early mornings, late nights, weekends as needed) and high production demands.
- In-depth understanding of UK Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25kg, and work comfortably in a warm, fast-paced environment.
