Job Title: Supply Chain Professional – SSNA Combat Systems

Salary: £40,748+, dependant on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
Develop and agree the procurement strategies for individuals’ assigned area and lead implementation of plans
Promote cross functional collaboration to ensure full, thorough engagement and buy-in to contracting strategies
Undertake and support the team in supplier assessment and due diligence activity to ensure the effective selection of suppliers to meet business needs
Effectively manage sub-contract change
Undertake the continuous review of supplier performance against quality, cost and delivery metrics to ensure requirements are met, to secure improvements and to inform future Supply Chain strategy
Develop and maintain supplier relationships as appropriate and undertake supplier development activities, with support and, in liaison with Supply Chain strategy team and Supplier Quality Assurance
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customers to optimise engagement and communication
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
Knowledge of procurement principles and practices
Understanding of negotiation and supplier management techniques
Knowledge of in-scope product / service being provided to ensure requirements are met with respect to safety and environmental management
Building understanding of the suppliers’ operation and working with them to optimise their service to the business needs.
Understanding of commercial aspects of contracts (with support)
Desirable:
Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualification or equivalent

The Integrated Combat Systems Team:
The Integrated Combat Systems Supply Chain team are responsible for managing major high value and complex contracts with significant defence suppliers. This opportunity will provide you with fantastic opportunities to gain skills and experience and build a strong network in support of your future career goals and ambitions. As a Senior Supply Chain Practitioner at BAE Systems, you will be working with a number of Supply Chain and cross-functionally internally and externally, ensuring you and your team deliver Scope and fulfil Processes, Toolsets & Reporting requirements. This is a fast paced, commercially driven procurement environment with a varied range of development opportunities, working as part of a diverse team to deliver part of the UK’s National Defence Programme. We offer relocation support across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
