Company Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement and Inventory Specialist to join our dynamic team in Glasgow. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the procurement process, maintain accurate stock records, and ensure seamless coordination between purchasing and site teams. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting operational efficiency and cost control across the business, particularly in the retrofit and energy efficiency sector.
Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Raising and processing purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services.
- Sourcing suppliers and obtaining competitive quotations to ensure best value.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date procurement and stock records.
- Coordinating deliveries and managing stock movements between office and site locations.
- Monitoring stock levels and performing regular inventory checks.
- Liaising with site teams to forecast material requirements and ensure timely availability.
- Reconciling purchase orders with delivery notes and supplier invoices.
- Assisting with monthly stock and procurement reports for senior management.
- Identifying procurement and stock control process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Supporting communication with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams.
- Assisting in the implementation of automated tools and systems to streamline purchasing and inventory processes.
- General administrative tasks including documentation, filing, and spreadsheet management.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in procurement, inventory management, or a similar role.
- Skilled in using procurement or inventory software systems and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong numeracy skills.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams, particularly in operations or construction settings, is a plus.
- Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and stock control principles.
