Here at Settle we are looking for an Procurement and Insurance Officer on a 12 month fixed term contract. This role will involve supporting the Procurement and Insurance Manager in developing and delivering a strategic and professional central procurement service and insurance service. The role will support continuous development and improvement of both services by ensuring data and records are accurate and up to date, providing responses and signposting to queries, and engaging with teams across Settle as required. The role will also support service areas in delivering procurement projects effectively.

You will:

  • Support the Procurement and Insurance Manager in ensuring procurement and contract management practices are compliant with internal policies, as well as statutory regulations, and provide best possible value.
  • You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure procurement and insurance records are accurate, identifying where procurement activity is required to implement new or renew existing contracts and ensuring any insurance actions are identified and carried out as appropriate.
  • Check and update contract information held on the Contracts Register.
  • Ensure contracts are signed and a copy is centrally filed
  • Record procurement information such as Tender Waivers and pipeline projects, ensuring appropriate approvals are in place for contracts to progress.
  • Review new supplier requests and run simple procurement projects
  • Engage with and support teams across Settle, responding to relevant queries on Procurement and Insurance appropriately.
  • Assist with insurance claims and queries and annual insurance renewal.
  • Administer the Home Contents insurance scheme and produce documentation and reports for the scheme.
  • Reconcile insurance claims to ensure maximum recovery from insurers.
  • Maintain claims files and insurance documentation relating to contractors.

We are looking for someone who must ...

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with colleagues at all levels
  • Knowledge of developing and drafting procurement documents for simple procurements.
  • Excellent organisational skills to be able to manage several projects concurrently.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
  • An expert at using MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
  • Ability to analyse information such as spend data, insurance claims information, procurement pipeline etc.

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of procurement processes
  • Knowledge of e-procurement systems
  • Experience of social housing and property related categories of spend, particularly repairs, maintenance and planned works
  • Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Experience of dealing with insurance and insurance claims
