We are looking for someone to join our Little Blossoms family which offers 2-4 years old the opportunity to grow, learn and develop through a play-based activities.
Can you create moments of joy that bring wonder and awe to children as they learn. We are looking for someone who will join the children in all activities and not be afraid to get a little messy. If you can switch from being a builder to the baker or artist, runs races, sing songs, dance silly and drink pretend tea. We want to hear from you.
Your role will involve,
- working within a team to provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to learn through fun, engaging activities supporting early years development.
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities for children both indoors and outdoors.
- Record observations for key children, and support learning for children on an individual basis.
- Support Children with additional needs, contributing to PLP’s if needed.
- Collect and drop off children from other settings as needed.
- Prepare Snacks for children.
- Build positive links with parents, carers and the wider community to build good relations.
- Contribute to all daily housekeeping schedules.
- Take part in all staff training, staff meetings and inspections, as required.
- Perform general administrative duties including preparing and completing paperwork on the computer/tablet, helping with the social media account etc.
- Ensure Policies and procedures are followed.
- Help with fundraisers, parents’ evenings, and other events outside normal working hours.
- Other duties may be required, this is not an exhaustive list.

Essential Criteria
Qualifications/Experience:
- NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Education.
- Experience working with children aged 0-4 years
Knowledge:
- Understanding of children’s development and needs (physical, social, educational, and emotional).
- Awareness of children’s rights.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication with children and parents/carers.
- Physical ability to lift children and equipment when required.
Personal Attributes:
- Genuine interest and motivation to work with children.
- Motivated and energetic who can take initiative, work in a team and also follow leader/manager guidance.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including unsocial hours when necessary.
- Willing to work with respect for the aims and ethos of Ballyclare Family Focus.
Desirable Criteria
- Paediatric First Aid Certificate
- Child Protection Training
- Basic Food and Hygiene Certificate
- Special Needs Training
- Level 3 Childcare or Playwork qualification
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: £12.21 per hour
