Job Title Playworker

Employment Status: Part time, permanent

Working Hours: 6.75 hours per week, Term time plus 5 inset days

(Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 3.00pm and 5.45pm)

Actual Salary: £3,823 - £3,944 per annum, pro rata

Full time equivalent salary: Support Staff Pay Scale Grade 2 £23,656 - £24,404 FTE

About the role

We are seeking to appoint caring, dedicated and enthusiastic playworker to join our Before & After School provision. Playworkers are responsible for children in year groups Nursery - Year 6, alongside supervising safe, age appropriate play opportunities and assisting with sessions of sport, drama, arts & crafts activities for children.

We are looking for someone who:

· Understands their role in safeguarding and protecting children

· Has a CACHE Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Playwork, or equivalent

· Can engage with children in a fun, enjoyable and appropriate manner.

· Is able to work efficiently as part of a vibrant team.

All staff are expected to know what to do if they have concerns about a child, take on the responsibility for providing a safe environment and promoting children’s welfare, undertake regular safeguarding and child protection training and, familiarise themselves with KCSIE part 1 and local policies and procedures as directed by the trust/academy.
