About Us:
Metal Fabrication Systems Ltd is a leading provider of steel fabrication services, specializing in Heavy Engineering Fabrications. With a reputation for quality craftsmanship and precision, we are expanding our team to meet increasing demand. We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Platers to join our growing workshop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and technical specifications
- Mark out, cut, and shape heavy steel components using appropriate tools and equipment
- Assemble structural fabrications to tight tolerances to pass to welders for final assembly
- Tack Welding
- Liaise with welders, engineers, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow
- Conduct self-inspections and ensure all work meets required quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies and health & safety regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a plater in a heavy engineering in a fabrication environment
- Strong understanding of fabrication techniques and materials
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Trade qualification or relevant fabrication certification (preferred)
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality
- Physically fit and capable of handling demanding tasks
