Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Plant Hire Controller to manage the coordination, scheduling, and administration of plant hire equipment. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and strong administration expertise to ensure smooth operations from order to delivery.
You will act as the central point of contact between customers, suppliers, and the operations team, ensuring all plant hire requirements are met efficiently, accurately, and in line with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end process of plant hire orders, from customer enquiries to completion.
- Liaise with suppliers to arrange equipment hire, transport, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure equipment availability matches project timelines and requirements.
Administration & Documentation:
- Prepare, process, and maintain accurate hire documentation, contracts, and purchase orders.
- Keep hire records up to date in line with company systems and compliance requirements.
- Monitor hire periods to avoid over-runs and manage off-hire efficiently.
Customer Service:
- Handle customer queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide quotations and technical advice where appropriate.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
Financial Administration:
- Process invoices and track costs to ensure budget control.
- Verify hire rates and negotiate competitive prices with suppliers.
- Review purchase invoices from suppliers
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all plant hire meets legal, safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
