We are looking for a Planning and Control Process Lead for a 24-month contract based in Derby on behalf of Rolls-Royce who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet’s vital power needs.
Purpose of the role:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to take the lead in driving multi-level communication, engagement across a broad range of stakeholder groups; revitalizing the Planning and Control function within Civil Aerospace procurement. This role is pivotal in aligning communication materials, driving standardisation, and ensuring effective collaboration across internal teams and external stakeholders.
The Planning Specialist will support the SIOP transformation by leading the programme’s communication strategy and developing clear, engaging material. The role ensures all functional groups and organisational levels understand the change journey, remain engaged, and feel connected to the transformation goals.
What you’ll do:
- Drive the creation, updating, and standardisation of communication and engagement material for Planning & Control S&OP Improvement Programme
- Collaborate closely with internal planning teams to ensure documentation aligns with operational requirements & functional needs
- Develop clear and engaging communication strategies, adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Develop and manage local intranet site for internal media storage, reference materials & landing details
- Interpret data effectively to create compelling visual presentations and reports for stakeholders.
The skills you’ll need:
- Strong stakeholder engagement skilled in stakeholder engagement across multiple functions and levels, with a collaborative mindset
- Strong communication skills with high ability to engage with stakeholder groups and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
- Experience in organisational change, programme communication, or transformation environments.
- Good understanding of Sales & Ops Planning Processes
- Solid data analysis and presentation experience, with clarity and precision in delivery of material
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with SharePoint
- Comfortable working independently with a passion for continuous improvement and quality
- Experience in creating and updating training materials and documentation in line with Standard Operating Procedures and proficient in creating engaging content (visual and written).
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build trust and encourage open dialogue.
- Clear, structured thinker with creativity to engage diverse audiences.
- Collaborative and approachable; able to build bridges across functions.
- Positive and resilient mindset with passion for change.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, transformation-focused environment.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of SIOP processes, or aerospace/industrial sectors (preferred but not
mandatory).
