Overview
The Pharmacy Dispenser plays a crucial role in the healthcare system, ensuring that patients receive their medications accurately and efficiently. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to providing excellent patient care and has a strong understanding of pharmacy operations. The Pharmacy Dispenser will work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to support medication administration and enhance patient outcomes.
Duties
- Accurately dispense medications as per prescriptions, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of medication orders, including labelling and packaging.
- Provide information to patients regarding their medications, including usage, side effects, and storage instructions.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions dispensed and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Collaborate with pharmacists to manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications as necessary.
- Support the pharmacy team in maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
- Participate in patient care initiatives, contributing to the overall health and wellbeing of patients.
Skills
- Strong background in patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards patients' needs.
- Previous experience as a Dispenser/dispensing assistant is highly desirable, showcasing familiarity with pharmacy operations.
- Knowledge of medication administration practices, ensuring safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Attention to detail is essential for accurate dispensing and record-keeping.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated to manage individual responsibilities effectively.

Pay: £13.00-£14.50 per hour
