Personal Assistant / Carer
Purpose of the job
I am an older gentleman who has dementia living in the Camden area. I require a permanent personal assistant/carer to support me with my needs every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
I love to go out daily and have regular daily activities. I am looking for someone to accompany me to Camden Irish Centre. We will walk or use public transport. We will have lunch at the centre and return in the afternoon.
I am a very chatty man that likes a laugh and dancing. I am also a Frank Sinatra fan and an Arsenal supporter. My personal assistant should engage in stimulating conversation.
The qualities I’m looking for in a PA are the following: they should like to have some banter, be able to walk well as I enjoy walking, have knowledge of the Camden area, and if not be able to use google maps on their phone.
Applicants should have experience supporting individuals with Dementia
Hours and rate of Pay
6 hours Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (9.00am-3.00pm)
£15.00 per hour gross (starting rate)

Supervision
My personal assistant is accountable to the employer in all aspects of their work. They should always ask what my needs are and listen to my directions and requests.
Main Duties
Support to access the community to engage in various social activities.
Assist with personal care, breakfast preparation, prompts with medication, light cleaning and laundry
The main duties identified in the job description are examples of the expectations required; there may be occasions where you are reasonably requested to provide additional activities to be undertaken inside or outside of the home.

My assistant must be honest, trustworthy, and reliable.
My assistant must respect my privacy and always maintain my dignity.
My assistant must be enthusiastic and flexible with a caring disposition.
You must be able to work well independently.
The post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure which will be funded through your employer.
