What we’re looking for:
An experienced Payroll administrator to work within our busy payroll bureau who is able to commit to a maternity cover role until 1st May 2026.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing payroll processing for a range of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls, including the management of your own client portfolio.
- Administering pension auto-enrolment processes
- Acting as the primary point of contact for payroll queries from clients, building strong professional relationships.
- Providing expert guidance on payroll legislation, including tax, national insurance, and pension schemes.
- Ensuring compliance with RTI (Real-Time Information) submissions and other HMRC requirements.
- Preparing and submitting PAYE, NIC, and other statutory deductions to HMRC within required deadlines.
To be considered for this position you should have the following:
- A proactive and enthusiastic attitude
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including tax, national insurance, and pensions (e.g., Auto-Enrolment).
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and internal teams effectively.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Good experience of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Xero, BrightPay, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of CIS would be highly beneficial but not essential
The ideal candidate will also have a minimum of two years’ experience within a high volume payroll bureau environment, preferably within an accountancy practice.
Our office is based near Paisley town centre with good transport links and free parking close by.
