The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for our school to recruit an enthusiastic and committed full-time Pastoral Support Officer as soon as possible.

We are fortunate in already having a very strong team in place with outstanding colleagues and inspirational leadership, who are committed to delivering high quality care, guidance and support.

This appointment provides an opportunity to strengthen our team further with a new, talented and enthusiastic Pastoral Support Officer who aspires to contribute fully to the pastoral care of our young people. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

A key aspect of this role will be the administration and support required for students who are moving school on off-site directions, students being supported through pastoral support plans and referrals for request for support. As well as the day-to-day requirements of the role in terms of student support, this will include a significant amount of detailed administrative work and building strong relationships with other schools.

Philip Morant is a popular, mixed comprehensive, in north-east Essex. The school has served the City of Colchester for 60 years and has a tradition, not only of excellence in education but also caring for its young people. Philip Morant is a happy school in which, overwhelmingly, students feel safe and achieve well.

Our vision is simple: a community where everyone feels they belong and are the best they can be. Our ethos is encapsulated in three words: ‘Aspiration, Success, Kindness’ which underpin our approach to all aspects of school life.

Philip Morant & College is ambitious for all of our students in their pursuit of excellence whether that is in the classroom, on the football pitch, the stage or working within the community.

We are committed to achieving the highest standards and delivering a holistic education and experiences which prepare our students for the next stage in their education, training or work place.

Please feel free to contact us on 01206 545222 if you require any further information about the school, or would like to arrange a visit. We will offer you a warm welcome and let you see for yourself why we are proud of our school.

The position will suit an experienced pastoral worker, a person with student based administrative experience, or someone new to working in schools with transferable skills and experience.
