Join Our Team as a Sales & Kitchen Assistant – Geek Retreat Blackburn
Geek Retreat is on a mission to celebrate all things geeky—from games and superhero movies to anime and sci-fi. Our growing network of gaming cafés and stores across the UK are the friendliest places to meet, eat, trade, and play.
We’re currently recruiting part-time Sales and Kitchen Assistants for our Blackburn store. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that blends retail, hospitality, and all things geek culture into one awesome experience.
***. Our perfect candidate would be experienced in playing either Magic: The Gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh! and confident in teaching customers to play ***

Responsibilities Include:
- Serving and assisting customers with a welcoming attitude
- Meeting sales targets and driving in-store performance
- Preparing and cooking food to order
- Supporting and contributing to social media content creation
- Helping plan, set up, and run events and tournaments
- Maintaining basic cleaning and hygiene standards for the store
What We’re Looking For:
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proven hospitality and/or retail experience
- Positive, proactive work ethic
- Understanding of trading card games and/or tabletop games
- A genuine love of geek culture (think movies, TV, games, comics)
- Comfortable using social media or willing to learn
- DBS certification (preferred, not required)
