Part-Time Café Assistant – Artisan Gelato & Coffee Shop
Overview
We’re a family-run gelato and coffee shop based in the vibrant Derby Market Hall, and we’re on the lookout for an experienced coffee barista to join our team as supervisor/keyholder.
We’re all about freshly made gelato, delicious coffee, and creating a friendly, welcoming space for our staff and customers. If you love quality food and drink, take pride in what you do, and like to go the extra mile for great customer service, we’d love to hear from you!

Working hours:
- 20 hours a week as a minimum, possibility of extra shifts based on footfall
- Monday to Wednesday: 7:30am to 4pm
- Thursday, Friday and Saturday: 8am - 3pm or 2pm - 9pm
- Sunday: 10am to 4pm
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver outstanding hot drinks in a fast paced market environment
- Help to supervise the team, giving them guidance and support when needed
- Open and close the shop, managing cash handling and inventor
- Make sure our stall always feels clean, welcoming, and cosy for our customers
Skills
- Extensive experience in coffee making
- Ability to take responsibility with opening and closing duties
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers
- A passion for quality and outstanding customer experience
- Curious to learn about gelato making and a flexible attitude to change
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.50-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
