More About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Packaging Planner. The Packaging Planner is responsible for coordinating and managing packaging materials to ensure production efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This role involves inventory management, supplier coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain a steady supply of packaging materials while optimizing costs and minimizing waste as well as ensuring all legislation and Grocery Suppliers Code of Practice requirements are adhered to. The role also includes leading and managing the change management process for every packaging amendment
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage packaging materials to ensure production efficiency and cost-effectiveness, including inventory management and supplier coordination.
Develop and manage packaging material plans based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and inventory levels, ensuring on-time availability with production, procurement, and suppliers.
Lead the change management process for every packaging amendment and ensure all POS changes are delivered accurately, on time, and at the lowest cost.
Maintain optimal inventory levels of packaging materials, track usage, and identify/resolve supply chain issues related to packaging materials, communicating risks and costs to senior stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to streamline packaging planning processes, support cost reduction initiatives, implement best practices, and manage critical path adherence for packaging changes.
As well as the ability to work at pace, you will also need to have:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficiency in supply chain planning tools and ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
Experience in packaging planning, materials management, or supply chain coordination, including forecasting, inventory control, and supplier management.
