VACANCY
HEROS Charity is seeking a passionate and experienced Outdoor Lead to join our team and deliver engaging, safe outdoor learning experiences in our beautiful woodland setting, and around our 200-acre stud farm site. You will collaborate with a committed team focused on enhancing outcomes and fostering personal growth in young people through nature-based education. Health and safety are a top priority, with staff fully trained to ensure a secure environment for all participants. The location, known for its outstanding beauty, will serve as a backdrop for sessions focused on conservation and wildlife, providing participants with a meaningful opportunity to connect with nature and learn about sustainability.
REQUIREMENTS
As outdoor lead you will have the capability to design, plan and deliver engaging sessions that inspire children to explore, connect with nature, and build confidence through hands-on experiences. We require a Level 3 or above qualification in an outdoor based subject. You will have strong communication and organisational skills to work closely with the HEROS education team to ensure a safe environment where every child feels valued and encouraged where nature is respected. First aid training is a must have or will be provided.
This role is well suited high quality individuals with a background in education, health and social care or outdoor-based activities, and a genuine passion for working with SEN students with a range of social and personal challenges. A love for the outdoors and a positive, enthusiastic approach are essential.
Working at HEROS offers a unique and rewarding experience. Many of our students face personal challenges, and working within nature, and with the horses on site provides them with powerful, therapeutic, and educational experiences. A energetic, forward thinking and dynamic approach is needed. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a compassionate, adaptable approach to working with young people, are key. While experience in education, social care, or working with young people is desirable, it is not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
