Vacancy - Operations Supervisor
Are you excited by the opportunity to proactively supervise our operational areas including vessels, quays and other working areas? Do you have previous supervisory experience in a fast paced, operational environment? We are seeking a Operations Supervisor to join our team at Great Yarmouth and help us keep the world moving!
Your Role
In this role you will lead provide effective and proactive supervisor and leadership of General Operatives, third party labour, contractors and users of Port controller quays. You will promote a positive health and safety culture that complies with business requirements and expectations, operating in accordance with our health and safety requirements.
You will liaise with customers and agents to ensure provision of a professional and well organised service, maximising revenue opportunities where possible. You will produce risk assessments, dynamic risk assessments and tool box talks, delivering these to colleagues and ensuring the safe and efficient discharge of vessels.
What you’ll bring
You will have previous supervisory experience, ideally gained in the fast paced environment, alongside:
- Knowledge of Health and Safety best practice and a commitment to ensuring Health and Safety is at the forefront of all activities
- Previous experience of Port and Cargo Operations would be beneficial but not essential
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams, whilst building strong working relationships
- Due to operational requirements, you will be required to have a flexible approach to working hours to cover 24/7 operations
