From Swimming lessons, to walking football and everything in-between we are driven to provide fun and welcoming sessions to support the whole community to be active, both within our leisure centres and in the local community.
The Stour Centre includes a large gym, three studios, large pool space, soft play facility for up to 150 children, an 11-wall clip and climb facility, an 8-court sports hall, a café and squash courts.
We are seeking a Non-Contact Boxing Instructor to join our team at Freedom Leisure. We are looking for someone who has a Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification as well as a relevant Boxing qualification or CPD that will lead engaging, adaptive and empowering non-contact boxing-style classes, designed specifically for people living with Parkinson's.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, supportive, and motivating non-contact boxing sessions tailored to individuals with Parkinson’s.
- Work closely with the Healthy Communities Manager to ensure all classes are inclusive, progressive, and aligned with best practice guidelines.
- Create a welcoming and uplifting environment, building strong relationships with participants and their carers.
- Monitor participants’ safety and wellbeing, adapting sessions as needed to suit varying needs and abilities.
- Keep accurate class records, including attendance and brief notes on progression and any concerns.
- Communicate effectively with carers, medical professionals, and Freedom Leisure colleagues.
- Champion a culture of inclusion, respect, and empowerment.

Requirements
- A Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification
- A relevant Boxing qualification or CPD (e.g. Boxercise, Rock Steady Boxing, or similar) with an understanding of Parkinson’s adaptations.
- Experience in working with older adults or individuals with neurological or mobility conditions.
- A warm, empathetic approach with great communication and motivation skills.
- Ability to work independently while upholding Freedom Leisure values.
Desirable
- Level 3 Exercise Referral or Long-Term Conditions.
- Current First Aid qualification.
