Opening in early 2026, Base71 Youth Zone is an ambitious new £10 million facility designed to transform the lives of young people in Barnsley. Open seven days a week, it will offer a wide range of high-quality, inspiring activities in a safe, welcoming, and purpose-built environment.
Base71 is part of the national OnSide network, which empowers young people across the UK through world-class youth work and inclusive opportunities.
We are looking for individuals to join our team from October 2025 to prepare for our grand opening in 2026.
The Opportunity
As a Sessional Youth Worker in Boxing & Martial Arts, you will play a vital part in the coaching and teaching of boxing/martial arts. You will be involved in the planning, development and implementation of a programme for young people that will enable them to build their confidence, social skills and overall wellbeing
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan and deliver a high-quality programme of activity that is exciting, safe, varied, innovative, developmental and directly responds to the diverse needs, concerns and interests of members.
· Be a role model to young people, fostering an environment where they feel confident and welcome.
· Encourage attendance and participation in activities, particularly by young people who do not usually participate in art.
About You:
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Level 2 coaching qualification e.g ABA Boxing, Kick Boxing Level 2 etc
- Experience in working with young people aged 8 to 19, or 25 with additional needs
- Ability to deliver high quality boxing/martial arts programme with children and young people
