Overview:
As a Night Security Officer within our Supported Accommodations', you will ensure the safety and security of our residents and provisions during night shifts. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring premises, addressing concerns, and responding to emergencies. This role is vital in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment while ensuring the smooth operation of our services overnight.
Responsibilities:
o Conduct regular patrols of the premises to maintain safety and security.
o Monitor access points to ensure only authorised individuals enter.
o Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or unauthorised activities.
o Act as the first point of contact for residents during night hours.
o Address resident queries or concerns in a professional and supportive manner.
o Promote adherence to house rules to maintain a respectful and orderly environment.
o Respond swiftly to emergencies, such as fire alarms or security breaches.
o De-escalate conflicts or challenging situations when they arise.
o Document and report incidents accurately for review by the day team or management.
o Perform routine checks on facilities, such as common areas and security systems, ensuring functionality and cleanliness.
o Report maintenance issues or other concerns requiring attention to the relevant team.
o Maintain clear and detailed shift logs for effective handovers.
o Uphold Howarth Housing Lifeline’s policies and procedures, with a focus on safeguarding and confidentiality.
o Foster a positive and safe environment aligned with the organisation’s mission and values.
Experience
Essential:
o Experience in a security or support role, preferably in housing or a related sector.
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
o Ability to respond effectively and remain calm in emergencies or challenging situations.
o Basic proficiency with IT tools, such as email and incident reporting systems.
o Availability to work a fixed pattern of 9-hour night shifts, 5 nights per week.
Desirable:
o Training or experience in conflict resolution or safeguarding.
o Familiarity with issues affecting individuals experiencing homelessness.
o Knowledge of health and safety or security protocols.

· 10 & 12 hour shifts (inclusive of 1 hour break)
· Work Location: Various Howarth Housing/ Lifeline Sites, (STOKE BASED)
