Newsletter Strategist

Dear Francis is looking for a Newsletter Strategist to grow, engage, and convert our smart shopper audience through high-performing newsletter campaigns. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on production and execution of weekly newsletters across multiple brands with a focus on driving sales and subscriber growth. This is a data-driven, content-savvy role for someone who understands the intersection of storytelling, audience behavior, and performance marketing.

This is a part-time role, with a maximum of 20 hours per week, and is ideal for a freelancer.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a high-performing newsletter strategy focused on deals and shopper insights.
  
• Plan, execute and schedule email campaigns aligned with audience interests and business goals using tools like Optimizely, selecting and sourcing engaging imagery and content
  
• Analyze performance metrics like open rate, CTR, and conversion to identify optimization opportunities.
  
• Use tools like Google Analytics and Looker Studio to track and report on campaign success.
  
• Develop content that drives readers toward sales conversions and promotional offers.
  
• Run A/B tests on subject lines, content layout, and send times to boost performance.
  
• Grow the newsletter subscriber base through targeted acquisition tactics.
  
• Segment audiences for more personalized and relevant email content.
  
• Monitor list health, engagement trends, and unsubscribe behavior.
  
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align content with revenue-driving campaigns.
  
• Translate performance insights into clear recommendations for future campaigns.
  
• Design, implement, and adapt newsletter strategies and advanced audience segmentation for multiple projects, ensuring highly personalized content that maximizes engagement and conversions.
  
• Ensure email marketing activities comply with data privacy laws and best practices.
  
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and propose innovative strategies to grow our subscriber base and boost engagement.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in email marketing, with a focus on external newsletters, audience strategy, or digital content growth.
  
• Strong understanding of email KPIs including open rate, CTR, and conversion rate.
  
• Proficient in Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and other performance dashboards.
  
• Demonstrated success in growing and engaging newsletter audiences.
  
• Experience crafting content for conversion in consumer-focused digital media.
  
• Familiar with A/B testing and campaign experimentation.
  
• Comfortable working with sales funnels and aligning content to revenue goals.
  
• Excellent writing and editing skills, especially for email marketing.
  
• Highly organized, data-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
