Job/Person Summary:
Supervisors and Officers at IEG are responsible for the supervision of staff setting goals for performance, organizing work flows and ensuring that staff understand their duties.
Implementation of the departments objectives as directed by the Department Manager.
Monitoring of employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out and maintain the tasks and activities necessary to ensure quality of services provided within the Mann Construction contract related to work undertaken on the gas distribution networks on the Isle of Man.
- Organize and mobilize Employers resources so that the above described Employers responsibilities be carried out on time by the responsible people
- Make sure every Work Order (Job Voucher) has its individual Job number before given to the Supplier
- Make sure that every (Work Order) Job Voucher is furnished with all information detailed schemes, underground utilities road closures or other permit from DOI before given to the Supplier so that jobs are completed safely, on time and to the right quality
- Co-ordinate and issue as part of the Work Order approved and authorized ROs and NROs to the Supplier together with the Work Order in line with Company Policy.
- Assist with assessing and monitoring the performance of the Supplier and keep records on all jobs so that the progress would be traced and information could be easily derived from them
- Carry out detailed survey with the Supplier on the site prior to pipe laying
- Discuss the Work Package in terms of proposed work, site conditions and method statement with the Supplier on site
- Carry out and process post completion audits of works and ensure all rectifications are completed
- Review invoices to ensure they correspond with post completion measurements
- Agree and approve in writing bona fide work variations with the Supplier
- Monitor and assess the Suppliers performance on the 5th day of each month
- Audit the works provided by the Supplier and measure the achievement of the KPIs set in the contract
- Record and audit findings and of all measurements of the Suppliers performance and achievements
- With management guidance attend monthly DOI meetings to discuss and organize Mans Gas works.
PROBLEMS FACED
- Provide a safe environment whilst carrying out duties.
- Assist with providing technical expertise in the resolution of hazards
- Ensure all activities on the gas distribution networks are carried out with the objection of maximizing service provision and minimizing costs and incidents
PLANNING & ORGANISING
- Support Network Operations in the production of plans and work packages
- Support the business in surveying the gas distribution network
- Provide clear and concise data as requested by the terms of the contract
DECISION MAKING
- Provide support in decisions regarding hazards and events on the gas distribution network in line with company policy
- Support the Head of Network Operations in auditing activities on the gas distribution network.
WORKING RELATIONS
- Member of Network Operations on the Isle of Man
- Represent the company in matters regarding Network Operations with local customers
- Part of the team responsible for Network Operations on the Isle of Man
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Respond to requests for work on the gas distribution network within area of responsibility.

Qualifications & Training
Diploma/Certificate in first line management or relevant field
Membership of or working towards a relevant professional body (for example CMI, ILM, IOSH, IGEM)

Experience
At least 2 years proven experience in a supervisory/officer role
Experience of Supervising and motivating a team
Demonstrate effective budget control.
Previous experience of writing procedures.
Ability to deliver projects on time, within budget and to the quality required.
Ability to assess and implement new technical/admin innovations that will support improved performance and productivity.
Use of IT and other relevant software.
Ability to provide high quality, responsive, efficient customer service and deal with customers enquiries professionally and to a high standard or re-direct more complex issues
