40 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:30pm
We are looking for a skilled Multi-Trade Operative to join our team of operatives with a mix of skills and qualifications working on repairs children’s services Within the role you will be covering all aspects of general building repairs including plumbing, carpentry, and plaster patching. The role is mainly lone working with opportunities to work with the wider team as and when required. With a company van and power tools included the role will cover areas in and around Preston, Darwen, Burnley and West Yorkshire.
The role of Multi – Trade Operative will include:
- Attending mostly occupied properties to carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties
- Resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring managers are kept informed
- Maintaining a suitable van stock level and restocking these when needed
- Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
- Providing out of hours cover via a call out rota
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
- Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
- Skills in at least one of the following disciplines – Joinery or Plumbing
- Ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
- Previous experience working within Social Housing is desirable
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
