Role: Multi Skilled Operative

Hours: 42.75 hours per week M-F (plus Sat when required)

The role:
We're currently looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our team at our Durham site. This hands-on role will involve working across various areas of the site.
This is an exciting opportunity to join us in a period of significant change and be part of the next chapter in this well-established Recycling Business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertaking the depollution of End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs) – removing and storing parts safely (full training provided)
- Removing of catalytic convertors from vehicles
- Hitting targets to achieve weekly bonuses
- Working closely with others, ensuring good communication and following instructions
- Liaising with other teams
- Operating plant and equipment
- Operating 360 grab
- Ensuring all paperwork is completed
- Maintaining all plant and equipment as well as reporting any faults or defects immediately
- FLT Driving - training can be provided
- Banksman
- Working outdoors
- Manual work with heavy lifting involved
- Ensuring compliance with environmental and health and safety policy and rules
- Maintaining good housekeeping practices ensuring area is always clean and tidy
Who you are:
- Previous experience in vehicle mechanics – nice to have
- Crane experience
- Confident in dealing with a wide variety of car makes and models
- Enjoys working outdoors in a busy environment
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Health and Safety conscious
- Previous experience forklift driving is considered an advantage
Experience in a similar environment would be advantageous, but not essential – full training will be provided.
