Refuse Collector (Early Morning Waste Removal – North Cornwall)
Location: Polzeath and Rock
Working Hours: THURSDAY & FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS
Contract: Part-time with potential for growth

Overview:
We are currently seeking a reliable and hard-working Refuse Collector to join our dedicated team. Collecting waste from a range of locations — primarily Polzeath and Rock with additional collections from holiday homes in Padstow and Newquay
This position is ideal for someone who is familiar with the North Cornwall area, enjoys working outdoors, and is looking for an opportunity to grow within a local business. As the route expands and a high standard of service is consistently maintained, performance-based bonuses will be applied at 6 and 12 months into the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect refuse and recycling on scheduled routes in a timely and professional manner
- Conduct routine vehicle checks and perform basic maintenance as needed
- Load and unload waste materials at designated disposal sites
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and uphold high standards of hygiene and safety
- Communicate effectively with team members, the public, and supervisors
- Report any service issues, hazards, or customer concerns promptly
What We're Looking For:
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team
- Good local knowledge of Port Isaac, Delabole, and Bude areas
- Physically fit and comfortable lifting and moving waste containers
- Valid driving licence (commercial driving experience preferred)
- Mechanical know-how to perform basic vehicle maintenance
- Previous experience in refuse collection, delivery driving, or warehouse environments a plus
- Reliable, punctual, and focused on excellent customer service
