We are seeking a confident, reliable, and customer-focused Mobile Sales Van Driver to represent our business on the road. This role involves delivering and selling a wide range of professional-grade cleaning chemicals, oils, valeting supplies, and machinery directly to hand car washes, MOT garages, car dealerships, gyms, restaurants, and similar businesses.
This is more than just a driving job — it’s a mobile retail and relationship-building role where you’ll be the face of the company, driving to assigned territories, presenting products, handling transactions, and ensuring customers receive an outstanding service experience.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Route Management
- Operate a fully stocked mobile sales van on pre-planned local routes.
- Drive safely and professionally at all times, complying with UK road and health & safety laws.
- Keep the vehicle clean, presentable, and stocked efficiently.
- Report any vehicle or equipment issues promptly.
Mobile Sales & Customer Service
- Set up mobile shop displays to showcase chemicals, oils, and equipment effectively.
- Visit existing customers and generate new leads within your area.
- Provide product advice tailored to each customer’s business (e.g. best car shampoo for valeters, degreasers for MOT garages, or floor cleaners for gyms).
- Upsell and cross-sell products based on needs.
- Maintain strong customer relationships with regular contact and consistent service.
Cash & Payment Handling
- Handle card and cash payments using the provided POS system.
- Accurately record sales and customer orders.
- Follow company cash-handling procedures, including daily reconciliation.
Stock Management & Merchandising
- Load and restock van each day with popular and requested items.
- Ensure all products are clean, undamaged, and clearly labelled.
- Track stock usage, fast movers, and customer requests.
- Communicate low-stock alerts or new customer needs to the office or warehouse team.
Essential Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence (Category B – up to 3.5T).
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, or retail.
- Friendly, confident, and sales-focused with excellent people skills.
- Organised, punctual, and able to work independently on the road.
- Comfortable lifting and moving stock (up to 25kg containers).
- Basic maths and literacy for handling orders and payments.
Desirable
- Previous experience in mobile van sales (e.g. tool van, mobile shop, delivery sales).
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, lubricants, or valeting products.
- Familiarity with POS systems or card readers.
- Local area knowledge to optimise routes and build strong repeat customer relationships.
