Hours of Work: Days Shifts
Monday to Thursday 7am to 16.30pm
Friday - 7am to 11am

About the Role:
We are looking for a MIG Welder / Fabricator, where you will be welding mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium. Each job must be produced with safety, accuracy, and timeliness. You will be able to:
- Fabricate any assembly accurately to any engineering drawing
- Possess advanced experience in plating to a high standard and fully understands comprehensive weld symbols and technical data on engineering drawings.
- Capable of problem solving and mentoring lower level welders / apprentices.
- Capable of fabricating and assembling parts without the need for jigs or fixtures aids.
- Build advanced jigs to aid productions assemblies and check to drawing.
- Proficient in heat lining/distortion control, oxy fuel cutting and plasma cutting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
MIG Welding including the following:
- Create quality welds according to drawings (weld symbols).
- Inspect welds for accuracy.
- Change wire, welding, as needed.
- Change gas cylinders as needed
- Responsible for the safe and proper packaging, identifying, and moving of all finished products to the correct location.
- Ensure all equipment is correctly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use.
- Performs first piece dimensional inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required by AET quality standards.
- Monitor equipment and request maintenance when required.
- Perform simple maintenance and repair as required.
- Will be required to cross-train as back-up/floating resource in other areas of the fabrication Team.
- Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Apprentice trained / time served experience in the fabrication industry.
- Good mathematical ability and the ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Ability to operate precision measuring devices such as callipers, micrometres, protractors, and tape measures.
- Safety, Quality, Accuracy, Timeliness, Reliability and Thoroughness of work performed.
