About the Role
The supervision of the children at lunchtime is a very important aspect of the social development and welfare of our pupils. You play an integral part in developing and maintaining ethos of our school.
Key Duties Include:
- Setting-up Lunch room
- Supervision of the children, encourage them to eat their lunch and promoting good table manners and positive behaviour
- Provide children with a drink of water, squash or milk as required Assisting children to open their containers as required
- Moving around and being generally vigilant ensuring children are managing their packaging and behaving properly Cleaning spillages, tables and chairs as required
- Supervise activities and maintain the health, safety, welfare, good conduct and safeguarding of pupils during the midday break, having regard to special or additional needs.

- Dealing with minor accidents and recording these in the accident book. Reporting any serious incident and /or unacceptable behaviour to the teacher
- Report incidents in line with school policy.
Outside:
- Setting up outdoor activities
- Moving around and being continually vigilant ensuring all areas of the playground are monitored
- Actively encourage and participate in positive play
- During ‘wet’ weather – keeping children occupied and under control on a wet lunch break
- Consult with teachers to find out what the children can use. A story or singsong helps to make the time more enjoyable.
Job Details
Hours: 6 hrs 40 mins per week, Term Time Only
Salary: Grade 4 point 5 £12.85 p/h. Pay award pending
Location: St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School, Angmering
