Job Description
We require an exceptional (telephone) medical receptionist to join our vibrant private medical clinic team. You will be responsible for providing administrative and reception support of the highest quality to our clinic team. This is primarily a working from home role with the expectation that you will be able to cover in the clinic when the need arises.
Part Time: Weekly schedule consists of:
3 Half days: 9:00am - 2:00pm (Monday, Tuesday and Friday)
Salary: £10,335 - £10,750 annual salary dependent on experience
Duties & Responsibilities
- Answer phones and patient enquiries and manage the responses
- Input new patient’s details, update records and enter data onto the clinic system with precise attention to detail
- Manage correspondence and telephone enquiries as directed
- Maintain and file accurate records
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed.
- Scanning and filing of documentation (when in clinic if needed)
- Chasing pathology results from the laboratory
- Assist clinicians when on duty for chaperone and basic Healthcare Assistant duties (training provided), (when in clinic if needed)
- Provide cover for their colleagues in their absence including front of house reception cover and telephone support
- Ensure that all relevant paperwork for each patient list is ready for Consultant / Practitioner (when in clinic if needed)
- Book patient appointments and procedures within the clinic booking system providing an excellent patient service via the telephone and email
- Book follow up appointments
- Work closely with the admin team providing sufficient information and support to ensure that smooth patient service can be maintained
- Maintain trusting relationships with partners, customers and colleagues.
Skills and Experience
- Previous Medical receptionist experience is preferred (at least 1 year)
- Word processing skills
- Good organisation skills
- Excellent telephone and written manner
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

They will be versatile and flexible, happy to work across various roles and tasks to ensure the smooth running of the clinic. They will also be able to adhere to processes and protocol, have the ability to prioritise workload in order to meet the clinic’s objectives and work well in a tight knit team.
