Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Credit Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the company’s credit control processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, and maintaining healthy cash flow. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage the credit control process from start to finish, including invoicing and follow-ups on overdue accounts.
- Conduct thorough data entry to maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications with clients.
- Analyse customer accounts to identify trends in payment behaviour and assess credit risk.
- Utilise accounting software to track payments, manage accounts payable, and generate reports for management review.
- Communicate with clients via phone and email regarding outstanding invoices, ensuring professional phone etiquette at all times.
- Collaborate with the sales team to resolve any discrepancies or disputes related to payments.
- Maintain an organised filing system for financial documents and correspondence related to credit control activities.
- Assist in the development of credit policies and procedures to enhance efficiency in collections.
Must have experience
- Previous experience in a credit control or finance-related role is essential.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage is required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Experience in telemarketing or similar roles would be beneficial but is not mandatory.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy in all tasks undertaken.
- Ability to manage cost controlling systems and procedures
