Job Description
This role is based in our 5 Howick Place office.
The Master Data Management Lead will join the Commercial Data Governance Team, reporting to the Head of Data Governance. This role will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of master data management (MDM) capabilities across Informa’s commercial data domains, including Customer and Product.
The MDM Lead will play a central role in establishing clear ownership, golden record definitions, data mastering workflows, and MDM standards to ensure consistency, accuracy, and usability of master data across platforms and brands. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration across commercial, marketing, technology, and data teams to enable One Informa’s strategic vision of unified data.
The Informa Commercial Data Governance Team (CDGT) is responsible for establishing and enforcing governance across key commercial data assets. The MDM Lead will ensure that master data underpins trustworthy analytics, customer engagement, campaign performance, and commercial growth.
Key partnerships
The role will work closely with:
- IIRIS (Customer 360 platform)
- Customer and Event Technology teams (Customer Technology)
- Group Privacy and Information Security
- Marketing, Sales, and Product teams across Informa Connect, Markets and Festivals
- Data Stewards and Data Owners in each commercial brand or division
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Lead MDM strategy and execution
- Define and execute the roadmap for MDM implementation across prioritized data domains such as Customer and Product domains.
- Champion the creation of a “single source of truth” by identifying golden record rules and resolving duplication across platforms.
- Evaluate the best MDM methodology for implementing Master Data across all platforms
- Align MDM practices to the data governance framework owned by the Head of Data Governance.
2. Enable cross-platform standardization
- Collaborate with technology teams to implement mastering rules, deduplication logic, and synchronization between platforms (e.g., CRM, CDP, PIM).
- Support integration of MDM capabilities into downstream systems and data products.
3. Support governance programs
- Contribute to strategic programs including:
- Data Guardian Program (Enterprise data quality & Stewardship)
- Commercial Data Discovery & Mapping
- M&A Master Data Integration
- Product Catalog Standardization
- Customer Identity Resolution
- Consent / Preference Management Projects
4. Ensure documentation and oversight
- Maintain master data definitions, glossaries, lineage documentation, and governance records.
- Report on data mastering health, exceptions, and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Master Data Management and Enterprise Data Governance.
- Experience with Customer or Product data in a B2B commercial, marketing, or sales environment.
- Hands-on experience implementing or operating within MDM platforms or mastering tools (e.g., Informatica MDM, Reltio, Semarchy, etc.)
- Familiarity with commercial data platforms like CRM, CDP, ERP, PIM, or Sales Enablement tools.
- Ability to design and implement scalable MDM processes, with attention to ownership, stewardship, and control.
- Strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills, with ability to navigate complex requirements across business and technical teams.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and process improvement capabilities.
