Tannlin is headquartered thirty miles south of Glasgow, adjacent to Prestwick International Aerospace Park, in Scotland. The Group supplies customers in aerospace, medical, defence, electronic and automotive industries; where Tannlin Technology designs and manufactures laser cutting systems, laser cut parts and is the home of the research and development group; and Tannlin UK designs and manufactures laser cut stencils and PCBA tooling. Tannlin are offering an opportunity to join an independent international engineering company in Prestwick in manufacturing operations. Ideally the person should be an organised, reliable individual with an attention to detail who is able to work as part of a team and on their own initiative with a positive attitude.
DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE
· Operate Production Machinery
Run laser cutting and other production equipment in accordance with company standards and safety protocols.
· Mechanical Assembly
Assemble finished components with precision, following technical drawings and work instructions.
· Stock Management
Monitor inventory levels, manage material flow, and ensure accurate stock handling throughout the production process.
· Measurement & Inspection
Use calibrated measurement tools to verify material specifications and dimensional accuracy of parts.
· Packing & Shipping
Prepare outgoing orders for dispatch, ensuring correct packaging, labelling, and documentation.
· Housekeeping
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of manufacturing areas to support a safe and efficient workspace.
· Communication & Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to identify opportunities for process improvements and share feedback constructively.
· Team Collaboration
Work cooperatively within a production team to meet targets and uphold quality standards.
General working hours are between the hours of 7am - 7pm but given the nature of the business overtime will be required at request, and it is expected the successful applicant’s working hours are flexible within reason. Multi shift pattern on occasion may be a requirement.
The position is full time/permanent (subject to a satisfactory trial period).
REQUIRED SKILLS
A good standard of education is preferable, ideally including Standard Grades (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a high level of attention to detail. The ability to work independently and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment is important.
Previous experience in a manufacturing setting is desirable but not required, as full on-the-job training will be provided.
