Buchanan Skip Hire is a local family waste management company with industrial and agricultural yards in West Lothian. Due to a recent expansion and increased work load, we are looking to add to our team of capable plant and machinery operators.
Candidates with experience operating either loading shovels, tele-handlers, telescopic grabs or farming machinery such as tractors, balers etc. would be preferable.
Summary
In this role, you will play a crucial part in our operations, ensuring the efficient handling and processing of materials while contributing to our mission of environmental sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Operate machinery safely and efficiently to process materials.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline operations and improve workflow.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Assist in training new operators on machinery usage and safety practices.
- Monitor production output and report any issues to supervisors.
- Maintain accurate records of machine operations and maintenance activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator or similar role in a farming, manufacturing or waste management environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required.

Pay: £12.23-£14.70 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
