An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our Local Taxation Team on a temporary basis to cover a period of maternity leave. Reporting directly to the Local Taxation Team Leader, the successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services within the Benefits and Exchequer Services division.
The role
This role plays a key part in ensuring the accurate billing and collection of Council Tax and Business Rates in accordance with Government legislation and Council policy. You will undertake a range of clerical and administrative duties to support the Local Taxation function. You will accurately process data relating to Council Tax and Business Rates accounts.
The post holder will also be required to respond to customer enquiries in a courteous and professional manner, both in
writing and over the telephone.
You will also be required to work collaboratively with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve
queries efficiently and maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and
procedures.
What's needed?
We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service.
The right candidate can handle numerical data quickly and accurately, Is organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage a varied workload. The right candidate has previous council tax experience and is a team player with a proactive and positive approach
