Local Bus Service Driver
Job Summary: We are currently looking for a Local Bus Service Driver to be based out of our depot in Llantrisant. Our Local Bus Service Drivers provide a reliable and safe service throughout Pontypridd and Cardiff area, 7 days a week, playing an important role assisting the public in accessing work, health care, education, shopping and leisure.
- Competitive rates of pay - £13.38 per hour Monday - Friday & £16.09 Weekends
- 30 days holiday per year
- Full time contract - circa 40hrs per week
Duties and responsibilities
- Complete vehicle checks prior to journey to ensure that the vehicle is legal, safe and clean;
- Drive on pre-determined routes and maintain appropriate time schedules;
- Meet and greet passengers;
- Assist passengers (where required) to board or alight the vehicle;
- Ensure that passengers have the correct tickets for their journey;
- Conduct yourself in a pleasant, polite and friendly manner and adhere to our Edwards Local Service Code Of Conduct at all times;
- Ensure that health and safety regulations and rules are followed;
- Ensure that all monies for the day are handed in at the end of duty;
- Check the vehicle for lost property and hand any found items to a supervisor;
- Provide excellent levels of customer service to all passengers, ensuring that you are approachable, calm and professional at all times;
- Deal with any complaints or queries that passengers may have during the course of the journey where possible;
- Provide reports to the Traffic Manager, where relevant;
- In the event of a breakdown, ensure that all relevant procedures are followed;
- Any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
Skills and Qualifications
- Category D driving licence and up to date Driver Qualification Card (CPC);
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Excellent verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative;
- Ability to work well under pressure.
