Your role:
We are looking for an individual with enforcement experience and a demonstrable knowledge in relation to Licensing functions.
You will be responsible for enforcing the requirements of a variety of licences and registrations across a wide range of different licensing functions including Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Licensing; Alcohol, Entertainment and Late-Night Refreshment; Gambling; Animal Activity Licences, Scrap Metal; Street Trading; Charitable Collections; and many more.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with legislative and policy requirements, and will undertake appropriate action, including formal legal proceedings, where applicable.
The successful applicant will be required to complete the Institute of Licensing's BTEC Level 3 Certificate for Animal Inspectors (SRF) within the first 12 months of the role (unless an appropriate qualification is already in place).
About you:
You will be able to demonstrate a knowledge and passion for Licensing functions and be keen to ensure compliance and promote public safety in Wigan.
You will be a confident and highly motivated individual, who is an excellent team player. You will also have the confidence to work independently, displaying initiative and enthusiasm for change.
You will have varied administrative experience and be proficient using various IT systems and software.
You will have experience of providing excellent customer service and partnership working with internal and external organisations.
