Vacancy: Lead Worker - Green Activities x 30 hours per week
Do you have a passion for being outdoors ? Do you have experience of leading workshops that promote wellbeing? Do you want to make a difference in local communities?
We are looking for an on-the-ground Lead to join our lottery funded Community Green project, to develop and deliver a range of accessible nature activities within local communities.
To apply for this role you will need to have experience of horticultural activities eg seasonal growing, developing green spaces and facilitating group work which promotes wellbeing for children and adults. You will be able to manage your own time and support others.
Hours: 30hrs per week between Monday to Saturday.
Location: Based in Ashton under Lyne, working across Tameside.
Salary: £26,668 FTE ( pro rata @30 hours)
Contract Length: This post is funded by NLCF until 31st July 2028

• Ability to undertake Risk Assessment and meet health and safety requirements.
• Ability to ensure daily procedures and tasks are carried out.
Ability to work on own initiative to deliver safe, meaningful sessions.
• Experience of working with community groups which may include; children and adults with a mild to moderate learning disability; children and adults experiencing poor mental health; BAME community; children and adults experiencing disadvantage.
• Experience of horticultural activities eg allotments / gardening / growing.
• Experience of delivering activities / enabling others. •
• Experience of planning and monitoring activities.
• Sound knowledge of Health & Safety requirements in relation to gardening / green activity, including use of tools and substances.
• Working knowledge and awareness of Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding Children &Vulnerable Adults legislation.
• Knowledge of the benefits of eco-therapy/ green social prescribing in relation to mental health and wellbeing.
• Knowledge of seasonal growing cycles, and related allotment activity.
• Educated to GCSE / O Level standard.
• First Aid Qualification or willing to achieve this
