Lead Tutor - City & Guilds Programme
Hours: Term Time Only – 8:30am–4:30pm
Reports to: Stable Futures Centre Manager
Salary scale: £23,000 – £25,000 per annum

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Tutor to spearhead the implementation and delivery of our new City & Guilds accredited provision launching in September 2025. This role will focus on delivering Entry Level Functional Skills in Maths and English, as well as Employability Skills, helping learners build the foundations for lifelong success.
Key Responsibilities:
City & Guilds Programme Lead
· Lead the design, planning and delivery of Entry Level Functional Skills (Maths and English) and Employability Skills.
· Implement and manage City & Guilds accreditation processes, ensuring high standards and learner progression.
· Ensure curriculum delivery is accessible, engaging, and appropriately scaffolded for diverse SEN needs.
Teaching & Learning
· Plan and deliver differentiated sessions in line with individual learner needs, Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and personal goals.
· Use a variety of teaching methods to meet the learning styles of young people with SEN and SEMH needs.
· Maintain accurate records of progress, engagement, and outcomes to report to parents/carers and external partners.
Careers & Next Steps
· Provide tailored guidance and support to prepare learners for life beyond Stable Futures, including transitions into further education, apprenticeships, or work.
· Facilitate access to a bespoke careers platform and develop partnerships with local employers and colleges.
· Support learners in building independence, confidence, and real-world readiness through practical employability-focused sessions.
Pastoral & Therapeutic Support
· Work within a nurturing and therapeutic framework to support learner wellbeing.
· Be a positive role model, promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and engagement.
· Promote and embed the voice of the child in all aspects of planning and delivery.
Key Skills:
Essential
· Experience delivering Entry Level Functional Skills (Maths/English) or similar qualifications.
· Strong understanding of the needs of SEN and SEMH learners.
· Ability to develop learner-centred, adaptive lesson plans.
· Excellent communication, organisation, and team-working skills.
· Passion for inclusive, trauma-informed education.
Desirable
· City & Guilds or Functional Skills delivery certification.
· Experience in alternative education or outdoor/therapeutic settings.
· Knowledge of Employability Skills frameworks and careers guidance tools.
