Lead Systems Administrator (infrastructure)

We are recruiting for a Lead Systems Administrator to join our technology division in Taunton, Somerset.
This is an exciting career opportunity for you to join our growing Technical Systems team, where you will play a pivotal role in the delivery and support of business-critical IT services and will provide guidance to software engineering teams on infrastructure and security architecture.

Job description
On a daily basis you will;
- Lead and coordinate with other support teams and external third parties with the troubleshooting and resolution of complex problems related to issues on the technical systems platforms.
- You will use system administration tools to investigate, diagnose and resolve complex and/or high-risk problems to maintain service level agreement levels, referring to users, other staff, the Service Desk and external suppliers as necessary to ensure availability of critical internal and customer safety systems.
- Solve and analyse consistent problems, evaluating options, prioritise and providing long term pro-active fixes
- Ensure the operational health of the technical systems environment, including security, availability, maintenance, performance, interoperability and reliability
- Engage with key business stakeholders to gather, review and understand business needs and propose a technology solution that addresses the associated requirements
- Lead support and system administration tasks for Technical Systems environments including MS Hyper-V, MS Windows Server 2016/2019 and above, NetApp storage, MS Exchange/Office 365 hybrid mail, MS Enterprise server components such as File services, Active Directory, SCCM, DHCP, Fail over cluster manager etc
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of technical systems processes and procedures
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps to ensure solutions remain leading edge in terms of functionality, security, performance and availability.
Person specification
The suitable candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Experience using system administration tools to investigate, diagnose and resolve complex problems.
- Experience managing container environments such as Kubernetes in a cloud or on prem environment.
- Experience configuring and maintaining MS Hyper-V, MS Windows Server 2016/2019 and above,
- Experience maintaining enterprise storage platforms.
- Experience with could administration including 365 admin centre, MS Exchange/Office 365 hybrid mail.
- Experience maintaining physical Data centre environments
- Team oriented
- Ability to analyse technical problems and provide appropriate solutions
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills to produce reports and give presentations to senior leadership and large groups
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under minimal direction

Recruitment process:
- Single Stage Interview via TEAMS. You will be contacted to book a suitable slot if you are shortlisted (see our Candidate Pack for further information)
- Interview will be with a panel of no more than 3 people and is expected to last approximately 45 minutes.
