Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including home care, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for those we serve by assisting with daily activities and ensuring their well-being.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects.
- Assist with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Support individuals with mobility and physical activities.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in clients' conditions.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
- Ensure a safe and hygienic environment for clients at all times.
Skills
- Experience in home care or assisted living settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of first aid practices and medication administration.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Patience and empathy when dealing with individuals requiring support.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Previous experience in childcare or nursing homes is an advantage.
