Kent is looking for a Lead Planner accountable for developing and managing the control schedule for a major/complex FEED project. This is for a duration of 12 months at our Engineering office based in Woking.
Scope of Work:
- Develop, update, and maintain the project Master Control Schedule and associated planning systems.
- Collate and report progress against the Control Schedule, including S-Curves, look-ahead reports (3–6 weeks), and other project schedule performance metrics.
- Identify scheduling risks and opportunities, proposing mitigation or optimization measures for review.
- Ensure planning and progress measurement procedures for contractors and vendors conform to project requirements.
- Produce timely project control deliverables and progress reports for client and management review.
- Evaluate the schedule impact of discipline change notices and project variations.
- Support the implementation of integrated project planning initiatives, ensuring processes are followed and updated as required.
- Support the materials control group by maintaining requisition tracking and ensuring timely schedule-related reporting.
- Coordinate with project teams to obtain required data for schedule updates and provide early warning of potential adverse performance trends.
Key Requirements:
- Significant years of experience of relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering FEED and/or EPC phase Detailed Design projects as a Lead Planner within the Oil and Gas and/or New Energy and/or Renewable Industry.
- Preferable (but not essential) for candidates to have a blend of FEED and EPC experience.
- Strong leadership and people management skills (noting empathy is a critical skill we value) with a proven ability to positively influence project delivery and build high-performing integrated teams for both the home office execution teams and our exceptional Global Engineering Centres.
- Delegate authority and responsibility effectively.
- Shows enthusiasm for the development of personnel within the Project team, supporting Project team members to achieve their defined personal and career development plan.
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills, ability to influence in a calm and professional manner.
- Excellent knowledge of Planning and Project Controls methodologies; utilizing analytical data for status assessment and/or decision making.
- Excellent knowledge of FEED and EPC contracts.
- A strong and effective decision manager, guiding team when required.
- Ensures decisions for key elements are recorded formally for auditable trail.
- A strategic thinker, ability to foresee potential issues and proactively manage risk and opportunities throughout the Project.
