The role

We’re looking to continue raising the bar at ITV Creative - to compete with the best of the broadcasters and streamers and get people excited about our shows and our brand.

We need someone to lead our team of staff and freelance content creatives. This is a hands-on role and split between overseeing and making.

Overseeing:

You will have 2+ years experience of running a creative team. This would involve line managing and supporting talent, developing ideas, campaigns and setting a high bar for quality in a high volume environment,

You will be a conceptual thinker who can recognise creative opportunity with a proven track record of using ideas to turn clip based trailers into unique, attention grabbing and award winning creative.

Proven experience creating memorable decks, leading pitch meetings and developing relationships with multiple stakeholders - Marketing, Commissioners, Executives and Show Runners - confidently selling in work, responding to feedback and overseeing delivery.

Be self reliant allocating projects and organising creatives, onboarding freelancers and juggling changing schedules when the need arises.

Alongside leading our Content Creatives you will also work closely with our Post Production department overseeing offline, online sound and VFX work from, Editors, sound engineers, designers and other creative collaborators - so both a creative and technical understanding of these areas is key.

Making:

Alongside overseeing and leading the role is split with making.

We need someone with impeccable creative editing skills with experience across linear, social, radio and cinema who can create bold and engaging assets across all of our genres.

A strong grip of storytelling, someone who can break down complex storylines into trailers with clarity that demand attention. Experience in longer, 90 second+ durations is valuable.

A deep understanding of offline sound design, library and production music with existing knowledge and relations with external platforms and suppliers.

Experience in Social / Digital is key with a detailed understanding of how the main Social platforms differ and what they demand across paid and organic.

Experience of shoots, particularly overseeing quick turnaround shoots for Social.

Flyweight design and motion skills are useful too.

There may also be an occasional need to flex across our wider campaign work, ideating 360 campaigns or / and supporting our campaign creatives on larger projects.

And a good technical understanding of Post Production to help collaborate with PP across technology and workflow improvements.

Reporting into the Creative Director, the role will also require strong collaboration with all our creative and commercial teams to ensure the highest possible quality and standard of the ITV Creative Content Team’s output.

Main responsibilities

  • Running the Silver Tier Creative floor.
  • Creative oversight for Content Creatives, Junior & Digital.
  • Overseeing the creative and professional development of the Content Creatives
  • Developing, selling in work and managing stakeholders from ideation to delivery.
  • Responding to briefs for a wide variety of content with a strong emphasis on communicating ideas through clip and archive based media
  • Flexing across 360 integrated campaigns to originate or support.
  • Have a forward thinking approach to the role, keeping abreast of current trends in video editing and content creation, championing their use in the department.
  • Working with Post Production to drive innovation and creativity across the teams
  • Offline editing

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • Solid experience running a creative team.
  • Experience ideating and executing award winning work.
  • Experience of creating decks and selling in work to high level stakeholders.
  • Experience with conceptual creative.
  • Experience with 360 integrated campaigns.
  • Direct line management experience.
  • Experience in Project management and creative allocation.
  • Knowledge of Digital / Social across Paid/Organic.
  • Experience in longer video formats 90+

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

  • Skilled creative editing, incorporating motion graphics
  • Ability to operate Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and common plug-ins (eg. Red Giant) to a high standard
  • Experience working in an offline/online post production environment and directing edit sessions with Finishing Editors / audio engineers.
