About this Opportunity

Do you want to be part of a team who are truly making a difference and passionate about creating a diverse and inclusive working environment? Us too!

We’re on an exciting journey to transform the Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. In Financial Wellbeing, we provide customers with simple, flexible, and sustainable ways to manage their financial difficulties, to help them be more financially resilient. This team, now more than ever, plays a crucial role in ensuring we support all our customers, both in their good times and when they are experiencing challenges.

We’re looking for a Product Owner to join our team. Leading the Customer Journeys & Treatments Lab you’ll join a high performing, customer obsessed team, encouraging an innovative mindset from the beginning to help customers when they need us most. Inclusivity will be key to your success, crafting a compelling vision and environment for a team of Product Owners, Engineers and Designers to thrive. You will need to build strong stakeholder networks to deepen our understanding of customers in financial difficulty and shape the future agenda.

Day to day you will

  • Lead a significant platform team, bringing your leadership experience and line manager capabilities

  • Input into business 6YOP, customer plan and tech roadmap as required

  • Support the development of Platform and Lab Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and provide product performance and benefits realisation data

  • Define and prioritise Platform epics, features and stories which support product strategy

  • Own the product roadmap

  • Shape the overall product vision

  • Ensure change compliance of the overall product

  • Be accountable for overseeing product change governance and business readiness activities

  • Build a capable leadership team and create a team culture focussed on learning

Skills we would like to see

  • Product Ownership – you take accountability for the platform backlog through leading cross functional teams to deliver simple and complex tech changes to our products, ensuring quality performance and excellent ongoing service

  • Stakeholder Management – you will manage internal and external stakeholder expectations and business sponsorship, quickly establishing credibility and fostering trust and ongoing collaboration. You will anticipate and mitigate conflict and shape stakeholder views to gain long-term commitment to current and potential future change

  • Customer Centricity – you will promote the value of customer outcomes with your team and peers. Anticipating customer needs and using customer input and steer to present targeted, integrated, and outcome-focused solutions and opportunities

  • Leadership & Culture – we are looking for an experienced people leader who authentically leads others, using situational judgement and deep listening to build a high performing and engaged team that is committed to learning

  • Innovation – we want to see a bold, innovative and transformational approach. You will be a confident problem solver, keeping the organisation moving forwards

  • Experience of working in regulatory environments – this knowledge and understanding of regulation will set you up for success in the role

  • And you'll influence positively – an expert collaborator and clear communicator, demonstrating the right values and behaviours and encouraging this in your team

About working for us

Our ambition is to be the leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion supporting our customers, colleagues and communities, and we’re committed to creating an environment in which everyone can thrive, learn and develop.

And, as a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role with a disability, long-term health or neurodivergent condition through the Disability Confident Scheme.

We provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process to reduce or remove barriers. Just let us know what you need.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual bonus award, subject to Group performance

  • Share schemes including free shares

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping

  • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top

  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
