We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen environment is clean, organised, and efficient. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients as directed by chefs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Ensure that all kitchen supplies are stocked and readily available for use.
- Support chefs during service by assisting with plating and serving as needed.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Help with the disposal of waste and recycling in accordance with health regulations.
- Participate in cleaning schedules to ensure all areas of the kitchen are kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods is advantageous.
- A keen interest in culinary arts and hospitality is highly valued.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining a clean work environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
